Day 18 – Bridal Breakfast
When the sun is setting, between dusk and darkness, there is a moment when the light turns blue. And the world stops for a heartbeat.

One area I really need more practise on is my Photoshop skills. I have a long list of projects I want to try, but due to limited time today (work gets in the way of the best photography), I just did one of the easy classics.
My failed attempts at boot-photography kept bugging me, so I decided to give it another go. I failed. Instead, Merlin became fascinated by the mirror – after a long hesitation on whether it was to be trusted. After all, you never know if you may just fall thru.
Over the weekend I bought a fabulous pair of boots (…the boots to die for). That got me thinking of fashion photography. I’ve never been keen on fashion as such, but the creativity involved in the photography is fascinating. Without a model, I was unable to get a good picture of the boots in question (a real first world problem), but here is a little experiment nevertheless.
There is one good side for being short – I always have plenty of legroom in the plane. Besides that, there is really not that much going for it. One of my pet peeves is that any piece of clothing I buy needs to be shortened. Another evening spent next to a sewing machine…
Today I was inspired by some geometric photos on ‘everyday objects’ I saw online. It was a good day for such inspiration, as I am ill and miserable (I have the man-flu) and did not want to leave the house. Since moving back to South Africa, I have re-fallen in love with local wine, and thus our wine glasses (albeit empty for once) are a highly appropriate subject for my experiments.
