Erika Ottela
As a wonderer and wanderer, I hope to continuously create stories with my photos, from things both big and small.
I picked up my first serious camera in 2008 when I moved from Finland to Philadelphia, USA, realised I didn’t know anyone, and wanted something that justified wandering around on my own (an excuse that still works). I first started this blog while living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Then life got in the way, and I left it untouched for over seven years…
Since then, I’ve evolved into a twin mother, an entrepreneur, and a returning Finn trying to adjust to the cold and the dark again. I’ve never forgotten photography, but I did put down my SLR in favour of an easier (and much lighter) phone. And if you feel like judging me, I encourage you to try lugging around two babies, an endless amount of baby gear, and 3-7 kg of camera equipment.
Currently, I am living in Espoo, Finland, with my husband and our 7-year-old (almost 8-, they remind me) twin girls, Alanna and Kiara.
