On some days playing guitar can be frustrating to Stuart. On others it seems to sing in his hands. Both ways, it is a passion. Albeit one he doesn’t have as much time as he’d like.

Day 80 – Too beautiful to touch
When I was a kid, I used to dabble with paints and drawing. One day my mum brought me these amazingly beautiful water colours from China. One set was black, and the other with all the different colours. My fingers have been itching for more than a decade now to use them, but I just can’t. They are way too beautiful to use.
Day 69 – Peek from behind the book
On a lazy Sunday afternoon (or any other quiet moment really), you never see Stuart without a book or newspaper in his hand. (at least in digital format as in here…) It is OK though – you won’t often catch me without mine either.
Day 65 – The reason for coming home
Travelling is fun, but then there is home.
Day 64 – The Sacred Heart of Paris
The Sacred Heart of Paris – more commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica – is in my opinion a more stunning than either Eiffel tower or Notre Dame. It has a strong meaning to me – as well as to my entire South African side of the family. I never spend time in Paris without lighting a candle.
Day 63 – Iconic Paris
To finish off a great week in France, my mum came to meet me in Paris. A lot of gossip, walks and wine followed – as appropriate. In between, we made it to some sights in the effort of re-capturing iconic sights of Paris. And what could be more iconic than Notre Dame and the pigeons.
Day 36 – Anything left?
Merlin loves food. With passion. His favourite times of the day are the mealtimes and not a second is wasted in gulping down the food. He has also developed a very accurate internal clock for the mealtimes, and is diligent in ensuring we don’t miss the right moment – at least not by more than 10-15 seconds.
Day 29 – Breede
Breede river is an amazingly beautiful area. With the ongoing drought in the Western Cape, it is like a little oasis in the middle of desert.
Day 28 – Playing with the lights
I’ve been playing around with long exposure photos a lot lately. With the help of Robyn, Bradley and two flashlights, we created some intresting effects in the dark.
Day 27 – Pure joy
River, boat and the ‘Alligator’. That’s all.
