Only in South Africa will you ever share a conference venue with zeebras, wilderbeest, kudus and monkeys…
When the sun is setting, between dusk and darkness, there is a moment when the light turns blue. And the world stops for a heartbeat.

For our pup – Merlin – the day without a park is wasted. So after some big puppy eyes stared me down, we took a walk in a close-by park. Despite some event taking place in one side of this small park, we found a few peaceful spots.
The winter is coming to South Africa, and evenings are getting shorter. Playing around in our garden with my camera (Note, the challenge is making a difference!) I became fascinated with the lens flares. This one was the last I got before the sun got too low behind the tree.
It’s only day 4 and I came home from work tired – and almost forgot my photo… Luckily there is makro… Stuart has a great habit of brining me flowers every few weeks, so there is typically something to shoot at.
I am back… After few years of total silence, I’ve decided to revive my blog – mainly to have an outlet to post my Project 365 photos. (see short background in the page ‘Project 365’)
So, for Day 1 we went for a hike in the private farm near Pretoria. I have to say I am rusty. Despite a nice scenery, I did not get many good photos from the trip. Luckily there are always ants…
The summer is already here (at lest in theory, as I look at the heavy rain outside), but I finally had time to spend few minutes with the pictures from our glorious Easter in Finland. Sun and family.
Skiing in the ice was perfect. Even if more active winter sports were also available.
Dad proved us wrong. You can actually get decently sized fish in winter.
Perfect weekend.
